Advocacy & Impact

Her legacy is still growing.

Kasey didn't just live through her diagnosis, she advocated for others along the way. Through her community, conversations and fund, the work she started is still flourishing.

Kasey Altman Research Fund

Created by Kasey to bring hope, funding, and forward progress to the fight against alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS), a rare and aggressive pediatric cancer with far too few treatment options. To date, the Fund has supported ARMS research projects at the University of Calgary, Mayo Clinic and Case Western.

Milken Institute Global Conference

Kasey challenged healthcare leaders to rethink how impact and ROI are measured in pediatric cancer funding. She urged them to base their metrics not on the number of individuals affected, but instead on the cumulative years lost when a child or young adult dies prematurely.

Spreading awareness

In addition to giving presentations and interviews, Kasey leveraged various platforms to educate, advocate and entertain.

For three months, clinicians, researchers, advocates, and innovators from around the world joined weekly Zoom calls focused entirely on Kasey's case. Together, they shared expertise, challenged convention, analyzed diagnostics, and created contingency options. Benefits of their unique connections endure today.

Support the Kasey Altman Research Fund

Even while fighting her own battle, Kasey focused on helping the people who would come after her. This fund supports critical research into alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, carrying forward her hope that one day no family will have to endure this disease.
